Rural Operations for Law Enforcement

The LMS Defense Rural Operations for Law Enforcement (ROLE) course was developed to assist individual officers, tactical teams and special units for law enforcement operations in a rural environment or in undeveloped natural areas within an urban area in both daytime and nighttime. LMS Defense's instructors will teach individual and team skills, operational planning methodologies and the development of SOPs and tactics.

Instructors for this course come from a lengthy background of law enforcement (SWAT), US Army Special Forces, and US Air Force Special Operations (PJ).

Equipment list:

  • Carbine with ZEROED optics and/or iron sights, sling and weapon mounted light and 4 magazines
  • PPE to protect against airsoft per agency requirement
  • 200 rounds of .223/5.56 ammo per student
  • UTM conversion bolts with 150 rounds UTM per student (subject to change based on course specifics, confirm with LMS Defense when registering)
  • Handgun with holster (optional, include necessary magazines and pouches)
  • 50 rounds handgun ammunition
  • Chest Rig or Plate Carrier or body armor as issued and/or required by policy
  • Handheld flashlight
  • Headlamp (recommended)
  • Issued uniforms with identifiers
  • Radios, chargers and comms support equipment (plus 2 spares for staff)
  • Backpack/daypack for daily support gear
  • GPS/Compass/other used land navigation tools
  • Camo face paint (optional)
  • Rain gear (weather dependant)
  • Appropriate hiking boots/footwear and additional socks
  • Sleeping bag/pillow/towel and toiletries
  • Personal water supply to cover 3 full days of heavy activity
  • Food (Breakfast/Lunch/ Dinner for each day)

You should be packing for three intensive days outdoors. Be prepared for a variety of weather as it can change rapidly. **The house has full bathrooms, kitchen, etc. House water is fine for brushing teeth and cooking but you will need to bring enough drinking water for the duration of the course.*

Prerequisites: This course is restricted to law enforcement and military personnel.

Student Registration Information

*If there are no seats remaining, you can be added to the waitlist by emailing registrations@lmsdefense.com with the name, date, and location of the course.

A deposit of 50% of the course fee is required to reserve your seat in the class, normally collected within a week after registration. The remaining balance will subsequently be collected 5-7 days before the class.

Student initiated cancelations at least 14 days prior to class date are refundable MINUS a $25 per day processing fee.
Student cancelations less than 14 days prior to class are NON REFUNDABLE.

Students should expect classes to run rain or shine, though LMS reserves the right to cancel due to extreme weather (cold, snow).
LMS initiated cancelations will receive a full refund.

Refunds may be applied as credits at the student's discretion. Credits remain valid for 2 years.
