Josh worked in law enforcement full time for over 20 years. Since beginning his career he has worked in a university law enforcement setting as well as for a Sheriff’s Department and for a municipal law enforcement agency in Northern California. He was most recently assigned as a patrol officer and breacher/ assaulter for a multi-agency regional SWAT team.
Josh’s patrol experience has included high-risk patrol operations, canine handler, Field Training Officer, Terrorism Liaison Officer, rural/ mountain assignments, and bicycle patrol. He also has practical experience in helicopter short-haul/S.T.A.B.O. operations and court security and holds a Master Tactical Breacher Certificate. In addition to being a California P.O.S.T. certified firearms and patrol rifle instructor, he is certified to teach active shooter response, manual and ballistic breaching, gunshot wound care, incident response to terrorist bombings, and conduct threat assessments. Josh is a factory-certified armorer for AR-15/M-4/M-16 rifles, Colt 1911 handguns, and Glock handguns.
Josh has also worked as a firearms instructor and student evaluator for a Northern California police academy. He currently works in the private sector interfacing with end users specific to tactical respiratory protection and ballistic protection in the Western US. Josh regularly works through LMS Defense as a project manager and mobile training team instructor providing pre-deployment firearms and tactics training to the U.S. military at various locations around the country. Josh also provides consulting services for private businesses and public sector entities on the topic of active shooter response and workplace violence prevention. In addition, he provides security guidance and management services for large events and festivals. Josh desires to educate and train armed citizens to effectively protect themselves and their families.
