Matt Butler is a seasoned military and law enforcement professional with extensive operational and instructional experience. Currently a peace officer with a major California agency, he has served for over 17 years in specialized roles including SWAT Sniper, Breacher, Canine Handler, Active Shooter Response Instructor, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Instructor. As a SWAT operator, Matt has participated in numerous high-risk missions and worked alongside local, state, and federal partners to bring hundreds of offenders to justice.
With combined active duty and reserve time, Matt has served as a U.S. Marine Infantryman for over 18 years. A combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he led more than 200 missions. His final assignment was Chief Combat Instructor and Operations Chief at the School of Infantry–West, Camp Pendleton, where he trained hundreds of Marines in key infantry skills such as patrolling, mission planning, camouflage, CQB, and marksmanship.
Matt is a California POST-certified firearms instructor and Stop the Bleed Instructor. He approaches every training with humility, respect for the process, and a firm belief in being a lifelong student—and a good dude.
